Fluid Painting
It is a technique I use to paint canvasses with an exuberance of colours. Before I start, I have to make extensive preparations, getting all the paints in a fluid form according to my colour scheme at hand. I mix paint with water, medium... in some cases use a little retarder and even gel to get the desired consistency. I discovered this proportion after a lot of experimentation. I pour the blobs of paint onto the canvas and tilt tap and rotate the canvas. I just feel so enthusiastic... anticipating and waiting for the painting to 'emerge' in the chaotic fluid flow so to speak with an excitement of a child! This technique requires a lot of mental preparation, energy and ABSOLUTE stillness.
There is so much excitement here because of the element of uncertainty. It is only here I realize that my art can be truly spontaneous and ORIGINAL. I find this technique meditative too and feel myself in a trance like state. I call these paintings "instinctive paintings". They bring out my TRUE spirit.
